Maggie Shayne – Daughter of the Spellcaster

Daughter of The Spellcaster (The Portal, #2)Daughter of The Spellcaster by Maggie Shayne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I started out not really caring for this book. It was really easy to get into, but I hated the fact it did not include the others from the first book. Well at least that is what I thought. She intertwines things so meticulously it draws you in and makes you become intertwined in the minds of the characters.

Lena the witch in this story is Magdelena who is pregnant with her loves child that she leaves, all which is on the back of the book. But the things and reasoning you come to find out are all part of their past lives.

It is a beautifully written story, that took me from being upset and not knowing what happened to Indy to love Lena just as much as I love Indy. Hoping now that they will find the love they need to complete their tasks.

It is a must read, really it is. If not just for the story but for the majick that Shayne imbeds into her beautiful stories.

Yasmine Galenorn – Shadow Rising

Shadow Rising (Otherworld/Sisters of the Moon #12)Shadow Rising by Yasmine Galenorn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is like the rest. Very emotional but excellent. I cried, I laughed and enjoyed immensely. I read it in a 24 hour period and the only reason it took that long is I fell asleep with it in my hand. I always enjoy reading about these girls and their extended family. I can’t wait until the next installment. I hope they never end.

Maggie Shayne – Mark of the Witch

Mark of the Witch (The Portal, #1)Mark of the Witch by Maggie Shayne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really loved the knowledge of the craft in this book, and the use of the biblical in some ways. It has a very strong plot and excellent character building.

I read this book in a matter of a day and was unable to put down even in the drawn out parts. I liked the work up to the romance, but I did not like how Indy self-doubted herself and her craft just because she did not get what she wanted right away. But all in all it was an excellent read.
